Menu Disclaimer:
- I share our menus after the week has passed. Why? Because my plans always change, and I'd rather share the reality of what we did than share my ideal plans that rarely ever work out exactly as planned. (I keep my ideal plan written on paper so I can scratch and edit as needed.)
- I don't ever buy drinks like soda or juice except on the rarest of occasions. We buy coffee beans and tea bags for making our daily coffee and the occasional cup or tea or gallon of sweet tea, but for the most part, filtered tap water is our drink of choice.
- As a rule, I tend to plan dinner for every night of the week, but lunches and breakfasts are far less regimented. Every day, I pack our leftover dinner for my husband's lunch, and if there's leftovers after I've made his lunch, then I typically eat them for lunch. Funny, because I never used to eat leftovers--and then I had kids. Ha!
- Below our dinner menu, I've included basic ideas of what we have for breakfast, snacks and lunches.
- As far as Saturdays go, I have begun planning breakfast, lunch and dinner. If I have a plan, we eat at home and it really benefits our savings.
- Sundays, we typically have lunch out at a restaurant after church. Old habits die hard--and it's great to share a meal with friends. Also, Sunday dinner will always be "Brinner". It's our tradition and it makes my family ridiculously happy, and I'm all about that.
- Also, it's super-hard to share shopping lists because my home, like yours, is on a cycle of buying staples so, for example, while "soy sauce" may be nowhere on the menu, it may be on my list if I'm out. In other words, our lists are unique to our families, and that's fine.
